Effect of different inorganic fertilizers on the phytobenthos composition in Litopenaeus vannamei culture ponds

            Abstract

            The compositon of phytobenthos in  Litopenaues vannamei culture ponds was analyzed using different  inorganic fertilization strategies. The experimental design was completely randomized with two treatments: T1 - sodium  nitrate enriched with phosphate, silicate, boron, magnesium, sulfur and potassium; T2 - urea, triple superphosphate and  sodium silicate. The phytobenthos was collected in the fifth- and ninth-week culture and groups in the identification were:  Cyanophytas, Pennales and Centric Bacillariophytas. Mean Pennales Bacillariophytas (p<0.05) density was significantly  higher in T2 (84,333 cel./ml) in the ninth week as compared to T2 (31,000 cel/ml). Mean Cyanophytas and Centric  Bacillariophytas percentage densities, and shrimp’s weight shrimp were similar in both treatments.
