Abstract

Field observations and captures of associate fauna between 1999 and the 2006, allowed to register in mangrove areas of the Caribbean Colombian, the presence of new species of sponges, coelenterates, , mollusks, crustaceans, insects, frogs, crocodiles, snakes, amphibians, turtles, birds and mammals, which confi rms the importance of this ecosystem in the balance of coastal areas and their productivity.
