Terapia Hormonal de Transição de Gênero: Revisão Integrativa

Pessoas transgênero (trans) são aquelas cuja identidade de gênero é diferente do sexo registrado no nascimento. Uma parcela significativa das pessoas trans deseja a Terapia Hormonal de Afirmação de Gênero (THAG) para alinhar características físicas com sua identidade de gênero. Esta revisão integrativa da literatura objetivou fornecer um panorama sobre medicamentos utilizados na THAG em mulheres e homens trans, baseada em estudos primários publicados no período de 2020 a 2025, em 3 bases de dados e no periódico International Journal of Transgenderism. Após utilizar a estratégia de busca e aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados 12 artigos para análise. Os resultados foram agrupados em categorias: eficácia clínica da THAG; segurança e efeitos adversos; alterações metabólicas e corporais; impactos psicossociais e comportamentais; adesão e conformidade com diretrizes clínicas. O uso de THAG emerge como ferramenta auxiliar para o processo de afirmação de gênero, proporcionando congruência entre identidade de gênero e imagem corporal, com impactos diretos na saúde mental e no bem-estar desses indivíduos. Diversos estudos apontam alterações na composição corporal e nos marcadores metabólicos. Faz-se necessário monitoramento regular dos efeitos adversos, principalmente relacionado com parâmetros hematológicos e cardiovasculares, bem como estudos dos efeitos da THAG a longo prazo.
