Abstract

It’s intended, with the following article, to develop an analysis of the approximations that are made through geography and religion over different times of human thought. To search for these approximation bases of the themes it’s intended to highlight how the first studies perspectives that approximated geography to religion were developed and, later, to develop a framework of how the religion thematic appeared in the geographic surveys in the different theoretical perspectives that influence geographic knowledge after its systematization as an autonomous field of knowledge. Lastly, we present an overview of the research groups of the subfield of the geography of religion in Brazil and which contributions these groups have been producing and corroborating with the contemporary emergence in the geography studies of religion.
