Abstract

In the Chapada do Apodi, Ceará, social movements, composed of a network of individuals and institutions, resist agribusiness practices that threaten people, territories, and their common goods. These movements embody a form of resistance deeply rooted in the pursuit of social and environmental justice, striving for a production model compatible with the ways of life of the communities in the Chapada do Apodi. This text aims to analyze the conflicts over land, territory, and water resulting from the territorialization of agribusiness in the Chapada do Apodi, as well as to highlight the resistance strategies employed by social movements and grassroots organizations. Consequently, our methodology was primarily based on literature review, the creation and analysis of a database, fieldwork, workshops in the territories, and the development of maps.
