Abstract

The scientific paper does some theoretical discussions about the dynamic social cartography experiment which used the Community Digital Map (MDC) as a tool. It aims to analyze the place perception of the residents of the suburbs of Sobral - Ceará, based on it posts and mappings in MDC. The instrument of research is a Smartphone application that promotes the integration between social networks and maps. Since the MDC is a new tool, it was necessary to spread it to the residents of Sobral suburbs. Based on the analysis of posts made by the residents of peripheral neighborhoods, it is noticeable they use the application as a knowledge instrument and territorial empowerment. Thus, it can be inferred that, despite the problems present on the outskirts of Sobral, the residents have a strong identification and affection with the space where they live.
