Abstract

In spite of its similarities with Northern neighbours, the Brazilian Far North was not perceived as belonging to this unit, but often as a remote periphery, given up or left in reserve. But the recent changes, in particular the opening of new roads towards toward the north, part of a new development policy, quickly changes the area and, while introducing strong internal differences there and integrates it more closely with the Guyanas.

Tem experiência na área de Geografia, com ênfase em Análise Regional, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: geografia do brasil, geografia politica, cartografia tématica, europa e américa latina.

    Doutorado em Geografia Humana pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Estágio de Doutorado Sanduíche pela Université Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III. Mestrado em Geografia pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP/Presidente Prudente). Licenciatura e Bacharelado em Geografia pela Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados (UFGD). Atualmente é docente do curso de Geografia (Licenciatura e Bacharelado) e do Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu Mestrado Profissional em Educação da Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS), ambos na Unidade Universitária de Campo Grande. Tem experiência na área de Geografia, com ênfase em Geografia Humana. É integrante do Grupo de Pesquisa Metamorfoses Metropolitanas e Regionais (USP) e do Grupo de Estudos em Fronteira, Turismo e Território (GEFRONTTER/UEMS).
