Abstract

This article aims to present an analysis of the urban dynamics of small towns Afuá and Ponta de Pedras, located in the state of Pará, and Mazagão, in the state of Amapá, of the Amazon River Delta, from the discussion about urbanity and the ibeirurbano. A multitemporal mapping of their urban area was carried out and questionnaires were applied to urban residents to obtain information to understand urban dynamics, as well as the use of census data. The analysis of urbanity for the reality of the small cities of the Delta has to admit the singularities of the ribeirurbano and thus enable the recognition and construction of citizenship in this new humanism.

Author Biographies

Sandra Maria Fonseca da Costa, Universidade do Vale do Paraíba

Doutora em Informação Espacial pela USP (1996), com estágio sandwich na University of New South Wales (1995). Fez seu estágio pós-doutoral na Indiana University no período 2007-2008. Atualmente, é professor adjunto da Universidade do Vale do Paraíba. Tem experiência na área de Planejamento Urbano e Regional, com ênfase em Planejamento Urbano e Regional, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: espaço urbano, planejamento urbano, geotecnologias, degradação ambiental e crescimento urbano. Há mais de 10 anos, tem trabalhado com o estudo de pequenas cidades do Delta do rio Amazonas.
Gustavo Rodrigo Milaré Montoia, Universidade do Vale do Paraíba

Doutor em Planejamento urbano e Regional pela Universidade do Vale do Paraíba (2018). Professor de ensino fundamental e médio das redes pública e particular de ensino, é pesquisador-colaborador do Laboratório de Estudos das Cidades da UNIVAP. Possui a Formação Normal (Magistério) para Séries Iniciais a nível profissionalizante pelo CEFAM-SJC (2002), Licenciatura Plena (2005), Bacharelado em Geografia (2008) e Mestre em Planejamento Urbano e Regional (2010) pela Universidade do Vale do Paraíba.
