Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) can develop anxious and/or avoidative traits among individuals. This study aimed to correlate the number of adverse experiences in childhood with the attachment dimensions in college students. The research was cross-sectional, descriptive, and exploratory, with convenience sampling. A total of 58 male and female students aged between 18 and 41 from a public university in the Amazon took part. The instruments used were the Adapted Form for the Biopsychosocial Characterization of Perpetrators of Domestic Violence and the Experience in Close Relationships - Reduced scale (ECR-R-Brasil). The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 2020 (SPSS 20), in which Spearman's correlation test was carried out with the variables. The results showed that the number of adverse experiences in childhood had a positive correlation with the anxiety dimension (rô=0.296, p=0.024), and a non-significant negative with the avoidance dimension (rô=-0.109, p=0.417), which confirms the findings of previous research into the relationship between ACE and anxious attachment. Thus, it can be said that the development of anxious traits between pipelines can be influenced by adverse experiences lived in childhood, which directly affects the quality of the love relationships of these people.
