Asociación entre alfabetización en salud, conducta de riesgo e infecciones de transmisión sexual: una revisión exploratoria.

Resumen

Objetivo: Mapear la evidencia científica sobre la asociación entre alfabetización en salud, conductas de riesgo y la incidencia de infecciones de transmisión sexual en adultos. Métodos: Se trata de una revisión exploratoria, con búsqueda realizada en siete bases de datos, sin limitaciones temporales. Resultados: Se identificaron 23.572 resultados; tras el procesamiento y la selección según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión, 27 artículos conformaron la muestra final. Conclusión: Las conductas sexuales de riesgo se ven moduladas por el nivel de alfabetización en salud del individuo, lo que resulta en la incidencia de infecciones de transmisión sexual. En el contexto de la salud pública, la posesión de conocimientos adecuados por parte del individuo sobre medidas preventivas para infecciones de transmisión sexual no se traduce directamente en su adopción en la práctica diaria, lo que pone de manifiesto una discordancia entre conocimiento y acción. Contribuciones a la práctica: Estos hallazgos contribuyen a la organización de acciones dirigidas a grupos vulnerables, favoreciendo prácticas de atención contextualizadas y la mejora de la atención, con un impacto en la reducción del estigma y el fortalecimiento de las estrategias de prevención de infecciones de transmisión sexual.
