Accessibility of disabled people to the sus: historical fragments and current changes

This reflexive study aimed to search, in the literature available, the concept of accessibility, its history, its relationship withthe Public Health System (SUS) and with the training of nursing professionals, and also to mention the factors that makedisabled people’s access to the SUS so difficult. Data were collected in books, scientific journal articles, reports, thesis,dissertations and articles extracted from databases through the following descriptors: Single Health System (BR), Access to Health Services and Access Structures. It is concluded that physical and communication accessibility indicates the quality of the services offered and the client degree of satisfaction. To make it available, the NBR 9050/94 should berespected, once it regulates access to the physical environment and buildings as well as to information and communication, as a strategy for the true implantation of the SUS.
