This work aimed to determine the salts of MS environment and sucrose concentrations to increase the efficiency of the in vitro multiplication of calla lily species. Explants were removed from the plant and inoculated in different concentrations of MS environment (0; 50; 100; 150 and 200%) and sucrose (0; 15; 30; 45 and 60 g L-1). It was used a completely randomized block design with four replications. The medium pH was adjusted to 5.8 and solidified with 5.5 g L-1 of agar before sterilization at 121 ºC and 1 atm for 20 minutes. After inoculation, the tubes were transferred to growth room adjusted to 27±1 ºC, irradiance of 35 µmol m–2 s–1 and photoperiod of 16 hours. After 60 days, the length of the aerial part and roots, the number of sprouts, roots and leaves, fresh mass of the aerial part and roots of seedlings were evaluated. There was higher number (3.5) and length (3.4 cm) of sprouting with 30 g L-1 of sucrose and 125% of salt in the MS environment (2.14 sprouts), without significant interaction between sucrose and MS environment. For the variables, number of leaves (4.13) and fresh mass of the aerial part (0.9 g), the best result was obtained in MS environment 100% associated to 30 and 60 g L-1 of sucrose, respectively.Downloads
