The present article seeks to investigate a central idea in terms of the constitution of political modernity, the idea of human equality. In this sense, the present article is an investigation in political philosophy, particularly concerned with the works of two thinkers related to the Scientific Revolution: Bacon and Descartes. Thus, we shall argue that one of the main contributions of these two authors is related to the development of the idea of equality of understanding, which would give rise to the more political right of human equality, thence leading us to stress the political. aspects of the Scientific Revolution.Downloads
