Modern science as a link between Hobbes' anthropology and political philosophy

This article is intended to show that modern science decisively influenced the Hobbes’ conception of human nature presented in Leviathan. In addition to this, it defends that such a conception underpins the notion of sovereign power that he proposed. Based on the geometric method, Hobbes formulated a mechanistic view of human nature that reflects the changes of perception of the universe which occurred during his life time.Downloads
