Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar a Teoria Descritivista dos Nomes de Bertrand Russell durante a fase do Atomismo Lógico. Inicialmente, apresento rapidamente a sua teoria dos Nomes Próprios no livro The Principles of Mathematics . Em um segundo momento, discuto a Teoria das Descrições Definidas e sua importância para a concepção de Nomes Próprios no período em que o autor defendeu o Atomismo Lógico. Por último, trato da distinção entre conhecimento por familiaridade e conhecimento por descrição e de sua importância para a Teoria Descritivista dos Nomes de Russell.
