Abstract

The present study analyzes the relations between Mauss and Sartre. It investigates, primarily, the connections between the obligation of reciprocating a gift and the consequences of this symbolic act, to elaborate a morality deemed as a total fact. Freedom stands out, in this context, as a fundamental value.

Simeão Sass, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)

É docente titular da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). Atua na Graduação em Enfermagem e leciona no curso de Pós-graduação em Saúde Coletiva da UNIFESP. Docente do Centro de História e Filosofia das Ciências da Saúde (CEHFI) da Escola Paulista de Medicina. Graduado em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas. Mestre em Filosofia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1994). Doutor em Filosofia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2002). Realizou estágio pós-doutoral na Universidade Federal de São Carlos (2007) pesquisando a teoria das emoções. Autor do livro O Problema da totalidade na ontologia de Jean-Paul Sartre (2011). Publicou também ensaios e artigos sobre o pensamento de Sartre e pensadores contemporâneos. Prepara a publicação do livro A Antropologia de Sartre. Tem experiência na área de Filosofia Contemporânea, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Pensamento Contemporâneo Francês (Bergson, Sartre e Pierre Janet), Teoria das emoções (Minkowski, Goldstein, Lewin, Laing), hermenêutica e conexões entre Filosofia e Psicologia. Pesquisa atualmente a abordagem narrativa e suas conexões com a Filosofia e a Psicologia. Membro do GT de Fenomenologia da ANPOF. Coordenador do Grupo de estudos Fundamentos Filosóficos da Psicologia. É membro da Red Iberoamericana en Filosofía Política. Integra o grupo de estudos do CNPq Humanidades, Narrativas e Humanização em Saúde. Diretor da Revista Internacional de Humanidades Médicas.
