Abstract

Data on the angel shark, Squatina dumeril, from Brazilian coast are presented in this paper. The information are based on an adult female measuring 1220 mm total length collected by a botton-trawl net, in 450 m depth off Amapá coast, north Brazil, in 1989. A key to iidentification of Brazilian Squatina, comments on distributional patterns of the genera in Brazilian coast and taxonomic considerations.are presented.
