Adherence to the Informatiza PHC program in Brazilian states: a path to equity in digital health?
Abstract
The objective of this study is to evaluate the association between socioeconomic and digital infrastructure factors and the approval or deferral of the requests of managers to join the Informatiza APS in the federal units (UFs), from an equity perspective. This is an evaluative research, of the logical analysis type, using secondary national databases from 2019-2022. The dependent variables are percentages of approvals or deferrals in relation to membership applications and rate of processes under analysis, while the independent variables are vulnerability to poverty, Gini index, HDI Education, and percentages of residents with 4G coverage and broadband internet subscriptions per population in the UFs. From the statistical analysis, the results showed that better socioeconomic indices and a higher percentage of broadband subscriptions are significantly related to higher percentages of approval or acceptance of applications to join the program, corroborating with inequity and digital exclusion.
