Cultural transmission: a convergent and a divergent point of view between Skinner and Tomasello

Tomasello and Skinner are two authors who describe theories on cultural practices in their works. The purpose of this essay is presenting a point of convergence and divergence observed in the definitions of cultural transmission described by them. Skinner and Tomasello agree that the establishment of the culture was possible only through the joint action of human beings in a specific social context. However, the two authors disagree in the way they describe the processes through cultural transmission happens in human contexts.Downloads
