memory projections

Abstract

This poetic proposition addresses issues on memory, from a post-production of the archive. For this purpose, we start from the observation and appropriation of elements of the cultural landscape of Póvoa de Varzim – Portugal, the research on primary sources, the transcription of fragments of documents, the constitution of an archive and the proposition of ways of presenting it. We also discussed the procedural context of
creation that sought to hybridize the personal and the collective, historic and cultural memory, from contemporary artistic practices raised with video narratives, which resulted in the exhibition “Sei serem os próprios” [“I know they are themselves”, a typical notary public statement].
