Abstract

The field of geodiversity is stablished as a paradigm in Geosciences. Its studies of environmental studies aim to translate the geological knowledge to a daily language. In this context, the present study discuss the didactic potential role for the geological heritage in fulfilling this purpose by the means of the study of the Sitio do Bosco Geosite, Tianguá, Brazil. The methodology starts from the theoretical discussion about the main concepts that compose the Geodiversity and Geoconservation theme. The analysis emphasize that the Sítio do Bosco Geosite present high educational potential and may be used in educational practices of different levels. We conclude that understanding the geological heritage by its educational potential consists in one of the main and more viable geoconservation strategies.
