Abstract

Racism is a phenomenon that structures the life of the black population. As it materializes in geographical space, it segregates blacks and restricts their spatialities. The school stands out as an institution that has great contributions in the struggle to overcome racism, as well as the teaching of Geography that can provide an education that contemplates in a positive way the black people. In this sense, the research aims to suggest pedagogical propositions that offer ways of how the racial question can be discussed in Geography classes. The propocitions were elaborated based on the Curricular Directives of Education (DCE) Basic of Paraná and in didactic model proposed by Gasparin (2011). It is hoped to foment the debate of the racial questions in the teaching of Geography and to contribute to a teaching of Geography that incorporates the Law 10.639/03 in its curriculum.
