Abstract

This study, conducted at the Institute of Education in Science and Mathematics at the Federal University of Pará, examines the representation of information within the domain of mathematical language. The research analyzes academic outputs, such as theses and dissertations, using recognized instruments for documenting and organizing information. The primary objective is to investigate the use of terminologies and documentary languages in the representation of information in the field of Mathematical Sciences. Specifically, it aims to identify and assess the frequency of terms employed in the academic works analyzed. The methodology focuses on examining the vocabulary and terminologies present in these studies and their connection to discussions within the graduate program. The results demonstrate that terminological vocabularies are constructed through natural language and the collaborative exchange of ideas among researchers. Moreover, the findings highlight the essential role of documentary instruments in structuring and systematizing information, thereby validating their significance in academic productions. The study underscores the importance of standardized terminologies in fostering scientific discourse and advancing knowledge in Science and Mathematics Education, contributing to the emergence of new mathematical insights and their intricate nuances.

Kátia Luciane Macedo Martins, Federal University of Para

Doutoranda em Ciência da informação, pela Universidade Federal do Pará (2024), Mestrado em Ciência da Informação, pela Universidade Federal do Pará (2019). Graduada em Biblioteconomia pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1992) Atuação bibliotecário-documentalista da Universidade Federal do Pará (2016- ). Tem experiência na área de Ciência da Informação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Disseminação seletiva da informação, Automação de biblioteca, Normalização, Linguagem de Indexação e acesso à informação. Atuou na docência nos períodos intercalados de 1997 a 2013, na Faculdade de Biblioteconomia, da Universidade Federal do Pará. Vinculada ao Grupo de Pesquisa Informação, Sociedade e Meio Ambiente GPINF (http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/189264), desenvolve atividades de pesquisa no projeto Informação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Sustentabilidade Informacional na Amazônia. Exerce atividades de levantamento bibliográfico e análise sobre divulgação científica para a sustentabilidade informacional de cidades sustentáveis e inteligentes.
Marise Teles Condurú, Federal University of Para

PhD in Socioenvironmental Development Sciences from the Federal University of Pará/UFPA (2012), Master's in Information Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000), Specialization in Scientific Documentation from the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology/UFRJ (1982) and Bachelor's degree in Library Science from the Federal University of Pará (1980). She is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Library Science of the Federal University of Pará. Permanent Professor of the Master's in Information Science - PPGCI and the Professional Master's in Natural Resources Management and Local Development - PPGEDAM, all from UFPA. Professor of specialization courses at UFPA. She is the coordinator of the Research Group on Information, Environment and Society. She is technically responsible for the research, organization and dissemination of information from the Hydraulics and Sanitation Research Group. She was the Environmental Information Coordinator for the Environmental Center (1997 to 2013) and Substitute Professor of the Undergraduate Course in Library Science at UFPA. She is the author of three technical books, one in its 2nd edition and the other in its 5th edition; technical-scientific articles; one technical manual; and technical-scientific papers presented at national and international events. She supervises undergraduate and postgraduate course completion projects. She has experience in the area of Information Science, with an emphasis on Information Organization and Communication Processes (production, organization and dissemination of environmental information) and information retrieval systems; and Scientific Methodology.
