The Direction of Prose: close relatives, cousins in-law

Abstract

Analyzing a story of a visit between relatives in a rural village, we see how the prose adquire new dimensions as we observe personal and familiar relationships. Th e senses of prose are often unspoken, that are contained in diferente perspectives generated by the narratives in the household. One particular story lines thus a potentially infi nite succession of personal narratives, gathered in a chain of information and varied perspectives. Not only beyond but also from a distance (physical and temporal) of his fi rst report, the incident narrated is perpetuated in the neighborhood that expands itself depending on the movement of visitors, and gives us the image of a familiar collective in constant motion.
