Oral Memories in the struggle for democracy: the role of documentaries in preserving experiences of resistance to the brazilian military dictatorship in Paraná
Keywords:
Ditadura militar, História OralAbstract
The text analyzes the struggles and resistances during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985), focusing on the state of Paraná and highlighting the importance of recording the memories, narratives, and testimonies of those who actively participated in the process and faced repression, mobilizing for the restoration of the democratic rule of law in Brazil. In light of current attempts to minimize, silence, or even deny the repressive actions of the dictatorship, the research explores the use of oral testimonies and documentaries as tools of memory. By recovering these experiences, the study proposes that the dissemination of narratives about the struggles and resistance during the authoritarian period contributes to the preservation of memories and the formation of a collective consciousness about the period.
