ESSAY: BRAZILIAN INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ LITERATURE AND ITS STRUGGLE AGAINST ETHNOCENTRIC VIOLENCE
Abstract
Abstract
The following paper is an academic essay about the place to which indigenous literature is relegated in Brazil and its struggle for recognition in the book publishing world. The text seeks to establish a connection between the studies on indigenous literature authored by Davi Konepawa, Daniel Munduruku, Janice Thiél e Regina Dalcastagnè, above all, and the concept of world literature and literary canon, exemplified here by the postulates of David Damrosch. Alongside this, we also seek to expose the perspective of decolonial studies, represented here by Anibal Quijano and Maldonado-Torres, as a way to explore the perception of the literary canon and coloniality.
