Papéis sociais na construção da personagem Lila nos romances “A amiga genial” e a “História do novo sobrenome” de Elena Ferrante:
o controle do contexto para a construção de Lila como símbolo de resistência
Abstract
This article aims to understand how the social gender roles occupied by the character Lila act in the narrator's construction of her as a symbol of resistance to social expectations of what is allowed and adequate in each role. For this, we will carry out a brief discussion on the construction of literary characters Beth Brait (2017), on the role of literature (CANDIDO, 2011), and also on the social problems faced by women in the novel (ALMEIDA, 2018; MENEZES, 2020). Later, we will use Van Dijk's (2012) context model theory to describe Lila's trajectory through social roles in the first two books, and to analyze the context control exercised by the narrator in the excerpts related to the wife's social role. At the end of the analysis of the wife's trajectory and social role, it was concluded that by controlling the context in the social roles that the character occupies, the narrator can present Lila to the reader as a symbol of resistance.
