Variações sobre a Saudade (2022): a dobra barroca enquanto ato de invenção
Abstract
Upon launching the work Variações sobre a Saudade (2022), the poet and professor Patrícia Lino builds thirty-nine visual and audiovisual variations that, in our view, deterritorialize, transform and reconstitute existing poems about saudade. This feeling, so vividly described through the Portuguese language, runs through Lino's work, which will be analyzed here alongside the theoretical works on the Baroque by, mainly, Gilles Deleuze, Ana Hatherly and Walter Benjamin. In this sense, through the interpretation, analysis and explanation of four variations found in Lino's work in question, this work will focus on the theme of variation – which, from Deleuze's point of view, receives the synonym of fold; under that of Hatherly, act of invention. Thus, Lino's current work ends up reworking the feeling so exposed in Portuguese poets and writers, from Camões to Fernando Pessoa, but, this time, under new variations.
