POETIC IMAGES THAT SHOW TIME IN "OS CUS DE JUDAS", BY ANTÓNIO LOBO ANTUNES
Abstract
The imaginary is understood as a set of images capable of cultivating a coherent whole, that is, although the images have different meanings, there is always an underlying force that gives coherence to the meanings emanating from them. This work aims, therefore, to investigate the poetic images that figure time in the novel Os cus de Judas, published in 1979, by António Lobo Antunes. In addition, we seek to verify how the concept of time is articulated, in order to understand not only the author's narrative and discursive strategies, but also his relationship with the historical context in which he was inserted. That said, we adopted as a methodology the bibliographic research and qualitative nature. Thus, we reflect on the poetic images in Os cus de Judas, adopting as a reference the studies of Fonseca (2015), Durand (2011), Paz (2015), Bachelard (2009), Seixo (2002), among others. Through the analysis of the aforementioned work, we found that the poetic images that emerge from Lobo Antunes represent time as the superstar of existence, the proximity between author and narrator, between testimony and fiction. Furthermore, they travel to the ethereal world, unknown and intangible to the living being; or even as a resource of salvation.
