Escurecendo os fatos:
feminicídio e mulher negra, angustias de irmãs, mães e filhas
Abstract
We investigated the representation of femicide in black-Brazilian literature, with an emphasis on the black-feminist chronicle, taking as an example the narrative "Poderosas", by Ana Carolina Oliveira dos Santos, in the collection Negras Crônicas: escurecendo os fatos (2019). The chosen chronicle evokes the creative and reflective process of the narrator-protagonist, a woman and black woman in search of a positive story, but who is faced with a murder case. To support this analysis, we use the propositions of Russell (2011) and Vergès (2020), regarding crimes against women; the specificities of the literature and the genre in focus (CANDIDO, 2003; CUTI, 2010); and to the feminist and decolonial theoretical-critical assumptions, in exhibitions of Akotirene (2019); Kilomba (2019), Hooks (2006;2019) and Maldonado-Torres (2018). As a result, we identified that the chronicle denunciate unnaturally the femicide, and warn about the importance of instructing women (since childhood) about this. Santos' narrative represents a collectivity of women vulnerable to the various forms of violence of a society in disarray. Therefore, it opens up space for valuing the victim. It is, therefore, a matter of recognizing some of the main issues refracted in the production of black female authorship in Brazil.
