Groundwater analyses in some counties of the Médio and Baixo Jaguaribe: mapping and estimation of the current availability

Abstract

The state of Ceará located in the polygon of the droughts and in view of the great use of the groundwater through wells importance of this resource is standed it out. The work aims to produce a georeferencing estimate of the current groundwater availability in eight counties of the Medium and Low Jaguaribe basin, for type of water-bearing and city. The studied counties are Alto Santo, Itaiçaba, Jaguaruana, Limoeiro do Norte, Quixeré, Russas, São João do Jaguaribe and Tabuleiro do Norte. It was proceeded the unification of diferent wells registers; the classification of the wells for type of water-bearing; the mapping of the  wells and the calculation of average outflows. The knowledge of the underground hidric reserves brings benefits to the population, favoring economic and activities subsistence, and supplies given management of the hidric resources, leading to the rational use of the water.
