Ruminal degradation of dry matter and crude protein of differents silages of corn hybrids
Abstract
The objective of the present study was to evaluate ruminal degradation of the dry matter (DM) and crude protein (PB) of corn hybrids silages DKB 440, DOW 8550, AG1051, 2C-599, CDX-D60. The in suit disappearance of DM and CP was evaluated by the nylon bag technique using fistulated Holstein bulls rumens in times of 0; 6; 12; 24; 48; 96 and 144 hours. The estimates of effective degradation of DM were 48.27; 44.03; 40.67; 40.88; 42.34%, and for the effective degradation of the PB had been: 58.31; 57.17; 66.30; 68.47 and 72.42%, respectively, assuming 5% hour rumen outflow rate. The kinetic parameters of the degradation of DM and PB of the silages of the different corn hybrids had been similar.
