Abstract

The experiment was carried out in the UNIOESTE – Marechal Cândido Rondon Campus, Parana State, Brazil, aiming on determining the efficiency of the mix foramsulfuron plus iodosulfuron to control weeds in cornfield. The applied treatments were: foramsulfuron (35.0 and 45.3 g ha-1), foramsulfuron plus iodosulfuron (36.0 plus 2.4 or 45.0 plus 3.0 g ha-1), foramsulfuron plus atrazine (35.0 plus 1000.0 or 45.5 plus 1000.0 g ha-1), nicosulfuron (50.0 g ha-1), a control bare field and a control non-bare field. All herbicides showed to be efficient for the control of weeds (Euphorbia heterophylla, Sida rhombifolia, Bidens pilosa e Brachiaria plantaginea). None of the applied herbicides caused injury, of any kind, which may affect plant development. The treatments produced greater yields than that of non-bare field, but did not differ among themselves.
