PERCEPÇÃO E AVALIAÇÃO LINGUÍSTICA NO NORDESTE DO PARÁ.

Abstract

This paper aims to present the results of the perception and linguistic safety test on the variation of pretonic middle vowel with data of Brazilian Portuguese spoken  in the northeast of Pará. The study is based on the theoretical-methodological frameworks of sociolinguistics (Labov, 2008) and attitudes (Lambert; Lambert, 1972). The research took place in five locations in the Northeast of Pará, and to assemble its sample, both native speakers from each location (topostatic) and those from the State of Ceará (topodynamic) were considered. The sample was stratified by sex, age group and origin. For data collection, the Self report test protocol was used, using audio stimuli so that subjects select, among the variants studied, the one with which they identify. The results indicated that the variation in pretonic middle vowel was not a noticeable phenomenon for the sample group. The judges identified more the medium closed variants. The results show that the variation in pretonic middle wovel is a phenomenon categorized as an indicator (Labov, 2008), given that it is below the social consciousness of speakers, and therefore difficult for laymen to perceive.

Doutor em Ciências Humanas pela Université d'Aix-Marseille I - França (2000), Coordena projetos de pesquisa na UFPA desde 1992. É membro da equipe internacional AMPER-POR. O centro de interesse de suas investigações compreende variação linguística, aspectos fonéticos, variação prosódia dialetal, aspectos multimodais.

Jany Eric Queirós Ferreira, UFRA

Professor Adjunto do Curso de Letras Português e Letras Libras do Instituto Ciberespacial da Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia. Doutor em Letras/Linguística  pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras - UFPA (2019), Coordena o projeto de pesquisa na UFRA Crenças e Atitudes Linguísticas na Universidade. É coordenardor do Curso de Letras Português da UFRA, Campus Belém. Interessa-se por investigações sobre variação linguística, crenças e atitudes linguísticas, ensino de português.
