    Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze some basic aspects of the Adorno’s critical account of Beckett’s plays, especially Beckett’s interpretation of human condition and conception of ‘deformed subject’. The discussion of the relationship between Theodor W. Adorno (1903-1969) and Samuel Beckett (1906-1987) will be based on the following texts authored by Adorno: Versuch, das Endspiel zu verstehen (Trying to understand Endgame), 1961; Negative Dialektik (Negative Dialectic), 1966 and Ästhetische Theorie (Aesthetic Theory), 1970.
