The research aims to examine the image of concept in the Republic, more precisely in the books V, VI and VII, in which there is a higher incidence of terms related to the image (eikon, eidólon, skiá e phántasma). We approach the image of the three waves and the sun’s image to demonstrate the use of this feature is that Plato. The imagery appeal seeks to approach as much as possible is the truth.
