    Abstract

This conference compares Plato’s attitude towards Politics and politicians in the dialogues Meno and Republic IV. It aims at documenting a profound change of heart affecting his disposition towards the subject, rich in consequences in the shaping of his career as an intelectual. Athens may have lost an occasional leader, but the world gained a philosopher for ever.
