      Abstract

The present article deals with the God ́s matter in the Emmanuel Lévinas’ thought, a philosopher who walked away from the determinative conceptualizations, searching for the meaning of the Infinite from the ethical context. Ethics became the perspective used in his investigation, that prioritized the circumstances in which the vocable “God” comes to our mind as a significant word.
