    Abstract

    In this article we examine the concept of desire in Spinoza’s philosophy and its conexion to his decision to find the great good. As the great good is not something diferente of its fruition itself, we conclude that to ignore its existence, to seek it and to live it are, respectively, the conditions of the common people, the philosopher and the sage, by example of how it was considered in the Garden of Epicurus.
