Translating George Sand’s Les trois hommes de pierre into Brazilian Portuguese
Abstract
George Sand, a 19th century French feminist writer, is known mainly for her novels and her life. However, one should also draw attention to her children’s books and to her collection of tales, legends, and oral traditions from her home region. It is in this sense that the aim of this work is to present the translation of the short story Les trois hommes de pierre, one of the legends published in Les Légendes rustiques (1858), not yet translated into Brazilian Portuguese.
