HYBRIDISM IN THE FILM CRITIC OF JAIRO FERREIRA
Abstract
Jairo Ferreira (1945-2003), film critic and filmmaker, promoted Brazilian experimental cinema. His criticism is an essential factor for the re-signification of the authors of this cinematographic current. In view of these statements, the question is: how? His writings in Folha de S. Paulo and, mainly, his crítica de invenção in São Paulo Shimbun are analyzed in this article under the concepts of advertising. Through the process of hybridization and the concept of branded content, a new vision is measured and proposed regarding the contributions of film criticism to works and artists reviewed by them. Interviews with critics, allied to the bibliographic research of recent studies, demonstrate that the case concerns the frequency of ideas such as added value, entertainment and sharing in segments of film critical essay.
