This study is part of a master's research, which sought to identify the elements and social practices present in the process of regionalization of television in Rio Grande do Norte. Through Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2011) of the programming of the five largest and oldest TV stations in the state, it was possible to calculate the regional production index and analyze other points such as the types of content broadcast and the classification of broadcast productions. . The study also included bibliographic and documental analyses, as well as consultations with video files, websites of the researched channels, social networks and news portals. The investigation is justified by the need to better understand the social practices of regional television, as well as to contribute to the registration of scientific knowledge on the subject, which still lacks further studies. When carrying out this investigation, practices such as the leasing of schedules, partnerships with other companies for the production of programs and the reruns to fill in the weekly schedule were observed. It was also possible to verify higher regionalization rates in broadcasters in which content production is outsourced.
