THE ITALIAN SITUATION AND THE TASKS OF THE PCI

Abstract

This text contains theses written by Gramsci with the contribution of Palmiro Togliatti. They were presented during the 111National Congress of the Italian Communist Party, in 23-26 of January of 1926, in Lyon. The political group led by Gramsci got more than 90% of the votes, while that the extreme-left under the leadership of Amadeo Bordiga got only 9%. The Theses of Lyon configure the attempt to endow the PCI with a line and a program based on two axles: analysis of the Italian reality; and historical understanding of the objectives politicians of the revolutionary proletariat.
