Bidialetalismo funcional e o ensino de português: a necessidade de um ajuste normativo

Abstract

In this paper, we analyse the concept of functional bidialectalism, pointed as a possible solution for problems related to Portuguese teaching as maternal language in brazilian schools. After that, based on elements from theoretical linguistics and on socio-historical data, we present the differentiation made between pattern norm and standard norm, emphasizing that this fact generates, as a consequence of its ascertainment, the necessity of modifying the concept of functional bidialectalism, for the fact it does not still include this differentiation. Hence, we propose the concept of functional bidialectalism with adjustment – in which the differentiation mentioned above would be already included –, as a manner of correlating it, in a more exact way, to brazilian sociolinguistic reality, because it interferes directly in Portuguese teaching as maternal language.
