Abstract

This article aimed a description of lexical dynamics - structure and word formation - the Human toponymic lexicon of city of Alagoas, in the light of general Linguistics Morphological studies (BASÍLIO, 2007; KEHDI, 2006; SANDMANN, 1991, 1992; ZANOTTO, 1996) in dialogue with the Toponymy (DICK, 1990, 1992, 2007; ISQUERDO, 2012). After analysis, the results showed that the toponymic syntagmas have proved more productive than single place names in the function name of Alagoas cities. And yet, in relation to the Morphic of the names of Alagoas municipalities, the composition by juxtaposition formed by nuclear element + restrictive deputy without the aid of preposition proved the most recurrent morphic constitution this toponymic lexicon.
