THE "GAS WAR" IN BOLIVIA: SOCIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF A POLITICAL CRISIS

Abstract

The article analyzed a conjuncture of an intense political conflict that occurred in Bolivia in 2003 as an outcome of government decisions on the export of gas which led to the resignation of president Gonzalo Lozada and his substitution by vice-president Carlos Gisbert. In this paper, the author tried to locate this conflict into the context 01 what he designated: "present contradictions 01 Latin America".
