Resumo

It is a study of qualitative nature which aims to know the level of satisfaction of the client with acute myocardial infarction concerning the given nursing care. Ten clients who were in treatment in a cardiac reference centre in Barbalha-CE were interviewed and observed from April to May, 2005. The collected data were organized and presented in three categories according to the most representative expressions of the subjects of the researches’ content. Then, the reports were treated through discourse analysis. The results showed the attachment and value devoted by the client to a care as a refl ection of the art of caring that was observed in different moments of the research. Such fact demonstrates that relational elements, such as intentionality, humanity and watchfulness are conditioning factors that confer intense satisfaction to such clients.
